One of the most important aspects of an Italian wedding is the wedding feast after the ceremony!

At Weddings Umbria we use caterers that are not only respected in Umbria but are renowned throughout Italy and the world.

Happy to cater for small and intimate wedding receptions or larger more elaborate banquets you can choose a menu from a vast selection of antipasti, pasta, meat, fish, dessert and wines…

Whether you are returning from the ceremony at the Comune or leaving the Chapel at venue an aperitivo is usually served to welcome guests and toast the bride and groom.

This is then followed by the wedding banquet. Often the selection of antipasto is the most fantastic part of the reception and a “Gran Buffet” can be laid out with choices of local salami, prosciutto, cheeses, olives, tartlets, warm savouries, breads… The antipasto is followed by a choice of one or two pasta dishes, one or two meat or fish dishes with a selection of vegetables, dessert and wedding cake. The menu includes white and red wine, Moscato (a dessert wine) and Spumante (sparkling wine) for the toast, together with water and soft drinks, coffee and liqueur.

Depending on the number of guests invited, an average cost per head for the aperitivo and the wedding menu is from 70 to 120 Euro (approx from £55) inclusive of five courses, wine, spumante, coffee, liqueur, water and wedding cake, and you can rest assured that your guests will be talking about the wedding feast for a long time afterwards!

Seven times world champion ice cream chef, can design a cake of your choice based on “semifreddo” which is a frozen mousse which, when served, literally melts in the mouth! The choice of flavour is yours, amongst others, Zabaglione, Coffee, Chocolate, Hazelnut, Pistachio or a combination of two flavours in layers or one flavour “dropped” into another.

Or perhaps consider a mountain of profiterole filled with cream and covered in a rich chocolate sauce…

A large “torta” or cake can be made for the symbolic cutting, with additional individual mono-portions ready to be served to your guests.

Alternatively, the caterers will supply a choice of traditional Italian wedding cakes based on Millefoglie and covered in whipped cream,

or Pan di Spagna (Sponge cake) laced with liqueur and covered in whipped cream.

These can be decorated with fresh flowers to match the wedding bouquet if required.
